Sleeping Cockapoo (with Matching Collar & Ball)
Joanne is a professional sculptor based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, UK, where she shares a workshop with her husband - sculptor, David Cooke.
Her work is inspired by a life-long love of animals, particularly dogs, and her aim is to capture the character of each subject she sculpts through its facial expression. All pieces are one-off sculptures hand-built from stoneware clay.
She predominantly works to commissions, creating sculptures of clients' own pets from photos. Commissions are not limited to the canine pet, she is open to requests to sculpt a variety of animals including cats, horses and chinchillas!
Training: 1991 - 1995 Manchester Metropolitan University - BA (Hons) 3D Design (wood/metal/ceramics/glass).
